Okay so I know it has been forever since I've been blogging but let's give it another go...!

So what has been keeping me busy?
At the moment my internship for my nursing major is definitely keeping me busy. 4 days a week I'm working my tail off at HVO - Querido.
I don't think a lot of people are familiar with it, so let me explain it to you!

HVO Querido is an organisation that helps the homeless in Amsterdam. It provides, food, shelter and guidance.
My internship however is at the medical institute of HVO Querido. Homeless people come to us whenever they have medical problems. About 95% of all these people have an addication problem. Drugs, alcohol or medicines. It is definitely a challenge but I'm learning every day!
Since this keeps me busy about 4 days a week and I go to school 1 day a week, there isn't a lot of time left for shopping!

However, I've recently visited the United States (again) so my next post will be about what all I purchased while there...

So im trying to work on my blog but school has been so busy. anyways here's some photos of when i just cleaned up my closet.
I have two closets full of clothing. All somewhat arranged.
Another closet for my shoes and then there's drawers for scarves and other accesoires.

Do yall have a lot of closet space too? Im so glad I have my own appartment, no one complaining about all the room I need for clothes and accesoires!!

About two or three years ago i was quite interested in photography. ever since my dad gave me a nikon d70 i took it everywhere i went..
I have just moved and found some of my old analog photos i once took and it reminded me of my map of photography on my computer. I just wanted to share some of my photos with you, photos that take me back to a much happier time.

Right now im at the huntsville, alabama airport.
Ive been in alabama for 10 days, i try to go there two times a year. five years ago i was an exchange student here and it kinda got stuck on me.

As of Monday Im starting my diet again. In february I started the first personal diet of Dr. Cohen. They take your blood and based on your blood you get your own personal diet.
At that time I weighed about 84 kilograms which is about 185 lbs. which is way too much for such a short girl like me. Ofcourse there were reason, I have never been the skinny kind of girl and I have always liked myself that way. After my parents got divorced last year I started eating like a crazy person!! Not normal anymore!!
So after a year I decided I needed to do something about that, I mean Im studying to be a nurse and to take care after people, and I was completely neglecting my own health. So February I started the diet, three months later I lost 16 kilograms which is about 36 lbs. Which is a lot.
Then the summer came along and I started enjoying all kind of things. I gained some weight again. But now Im starting back up again. I still need to loose 11kgs which is 24lbs. I know I can do it, especially when I look at old photos of myself being way too much overweight.

I never show outfit photos cause I still think I'm too fat, but here we go!
Its not really a good photo. Imagine that I'm not wearing birkenstocks cause I only wore these indoors!

I'm wearing a plum coloured v-neck from victorias secret, a grey tank top which comes from H&M, leggins and skirt are also from H&M. Not shown in the picture are my gold coloured earrings with plum coloured pendants from forever21

So since I have to move again I have been spending time online looking at interior. there are sooooooo many nice photos online. I think the main colours of my new three room appartment will be white, some kind of taupe maybe a light grey. just keep it fresh and clean. But I also love bold colours so I might have to accesorize with bold colours!

So this afternoon I was pissed, the guy from TNT postal services walked by with packages. All except mine. I figured I had to wait one more day for my topshop leather studded bag and my laptop!

Luckily my bag was brought later by some other service which also brought a vintage levi's skirt. Just 10 minutes later someone dropped off my laptop. I'm HAPPY!
The fixed the cooling system in my laptop so no more 100degrees laptop resting in my lap. And the bag is just pure love.

It's a bit smaller than I expected but it still fits lots and lots of stuff.

So i've been in Paris this summer and did some shopping for this winter.
You can tell I love nude colours and beige..

I love this gorgeous Day Birger et Mikkelsen top. It was expensive but worth all of it

My grandma bought me this knitted jacket from Warehouse, its so comfy!

While I was waiting at Schiphol airport to pick up my mom, I went into H&M and found this gorgeous coloured scarf! And it was only 10 euros or something!

This Lonchamp le Pliage in size small I bought at Lafayette in Paris, its soooo gorgeous. And I couldnt pick a bag/colour. My next will be a kind of powderpink

This are from Angie V, a store in Amsterdam. They're real leather, look good with everything and are very comfortable!

Lost in Austen

On Dutch tv there is a short mini serie every monday for 4 weeks long.
It's called Lost in Austen. It's about a woman who is addicted to the book pride and prejudice and then somehow opens a door in her bathroom and steps into the world of pride and prejudice. Where she screws up completely how the book is supposed to go.

I have to say it is good, funny and different.
It's on NCRV monday night at 9PM.

last week my laptop started to get really really hot!!! CRAZY! So today I phoned the sony helpdesk, lucky for me its still paid for since its covered for two years.
I will have to let my baby go this thursday but will have her back 10 days later..

In 2004 I decided to go abroad for 12 months. That's when I went to a high school in Alabama. At first I did not want to go to Alabama (hello.. where the fuck is alabama to begin with were my exact thoughts)
But right after my arrival I was so glad. The scenery is amazing and the people were so nice!

After I left I immediatly went back and after that 2 more times.
This October I'm going again, to meet up with friends and loved ones, to check out nature, to go to museums and to go shopping!

I have been waaaay too busy the last few weeks and im so so sorry for my lack of updates. but i think i got the flu right now so plenty of time to make up for my lack of updates.

first of all i wanted to mention that me and my friend marije are going to Paris july 13th. We are going to stay there for 5 nights and im so so so excited i cant even wait. its been six years since i last visited. my friend has been an au-pair in paris a year ago so she can show me where to go!

last week i went to see the movie the hangover.. men.. i pretty much peed myself. i have not laughed so loud at a movie. my kind of humor, go see it!

I have received my new couch, its from ikea and its super comfortable.
tonight one of my friends will come over to chat, watch movies, drink tea and enjoy some sweets.
My aunt also bought me a lamp i looove!

So i promised some photos of my crib.
first some explanation. it a family home, on the corner, so it has extra windows.
it has three bedrooms and its a two story house.

second of all, my house is a freakin mess. i suck at cleaning and at keeping clean lol!

First of all my fave piece. my grandpa once made this cabinet. i have had it in my posession for a long time but didnt really use it. Now its right in the middle of my livingroom with my teacups and some pretty crystal vases in it. it has such a high value especially since my grandpa passed away

this is the chair my momma gave me. and its pretty much the only comfy thing i own right now. I will be going couchshopping with my aunt tomorrow

This is a small stool with some sheepfur on it, really warm and comfy in the winter!

My tv is standing on an old antique kinda table thingy. My mom bought it but i was damaged severely. We fixed it up bigtime and gave it a blue/turqoise kinda color.

And last but not least my dining table!

Its just the beginning and it still feels kinda empty and not very home-like! but i hope that will come in time!

Another great thing. I have booked my summer vacation to Paris. I will be going to Paris with the Thalys on july 13th and will be there til the 18th. Now im just looking for a hotel to stay at.

This weekend I went to IJHallen, which is like a giant outdoors (in the summer) fleamarket. My mom and I spent like 3 hours there and bought some amazing stuff.
I found a levi's jeans for just 5 euros, two amazing lights to put above my diningroom table for 9 euros and some gorgeous vest/jackety thing for just 1 euro!
I lovee fleamarket! Here's a photo to show what it looks like.
